Skills Recognition
Skills Recognition is a process whereby skills you already have can be assessed and recognised, irrespective of where or how you acquired them.
This includes Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Complete your qualification faster
If you are granted recognition for a particular competency you will not have to undertake training or assessment in that module or unit which will reduce the time required to complete a qualification.
In cases where the Skills Recognition is publicly funded, normal enrolment fees apply to an annual limit of 800 hours.
Qualifications from other Registered Training Organisations
Any student enrolled at Swan TAFE will receive full recognition (exemption or credit) for qualifications or units completed at other Registered Training Organisations if the units have the same national or state code.
To receive this mutual recognition, you must present the certificate or academic statement from the other Registered Training Organisation when applying for your award at the completion of a qualification at Swan TAFE.
For more information
Skills Recognition Information and Application Packs are available from Swan TAFE Business Units or Customer Service Centres at any campus.
International students may also apply
International Students will need to contact the International Centre at Bentley Campus to determine the relevant fees.
Note that successful applications will lead to a reduced study load which may affect government study allowances or visas.
