Learn how to cut, shape, join and finish metal to make metal structures and products. This qualification – the ideal way to set yourself up to gain an apprenticeship – will teach you to use tools, measure and calculate, draw and interpret sketches, cut metal, join metal, and much more.

Thornlie Campus
If Tonka Trucks inspired you as a kid, and you want to work on the real thing, this qualification gives you a very good chance of getting an apprenticeship as a plant mechanic. Learn how to check and repair dump trucks, bulldozers, loaders and drilling rigs. You’ll also cover using tools, cooling systems, dismantling, replacing and assembling mechanical equipment.

Learn practical skills to make and repair machines, parts and tools, and put this knowledge to practice in a supervised work placement.
